Birds, Birding, and Bird Feeding
in the Pacific Northwest

     The Wild Bird Shop started out as a store for people who like to feed and watch birds.  We have grown and changed a lot since then, but we still remain loyal to our feathered friends.  We sell a variety of quality bird feeders and houses, and stock the more common seeds that birds like as well as very good quality Oregon-made suet blocks.  Check out our bird feeding FAQ page for tips and answers to your questions.  If you don't find it there send me an email and I'll do my best to get you an answer.
     Located as we are in a temperate coastal rainforest, there are many birds around and many opportunities to see them.  If you want to know where to go, check out our Birding at the Beach online guide.  We'll post sightings of unusual birds or other animals.
     Whether you are an expert birder, a casual birder, or just want to know what you are seeing at your feeder, a field guide will come in handy.

     Pelagic birds are birds which spend their lives at sea, only coming to land when it is time to lay eggs and raise their young.  Many of these birds come within a few miles of our shore, but you never see them.  Pelagic birding trips are becoming more and more popular.  A few expert pelagic birders have teamed up with quality boat operators to bring you some fantastic pelagic birding opportunities.  If you go to our Pelagic birding page you will find links to their websites.
