Pour in water. You should fill it to within one to one and a half inches of the lowest piece of slate. If you plan on adding pebbles later, you might want to keep it a little low until you've done so, but not too low. Remember that the farther the drops fall before hitting the water in the basin, the more it will splash. We see almost no splashing with a one inch drop. Home
