*Note:  The maximum flow rate of pump is measured at the outlet.  When you attach a piece of tubing onto the pump outlet, you are asking the pump to lift the water higher.   The higher you attempt to lift the water, the less flow you will get until you get to the "Maximum" when flow becomes zero.  You would never use a pump at, or near its maximum but it does give you an idea of what to expect at lower lifting heights.
