About the Wild Bird Shop
Janet & Brian co-own the Wild Bird Shop. We first opened
in November of 1993 after a few very hectic weeks of preparation. Neither of us had
ever owned a retail business of any kind before this, nor had we worked in the wild bird
or nature business. But we had energy, brains, an
independent streak, and a love of birds, nature and the
great outdoors. Our store reflects that love and naiveté. We've
done it our way. It is most certainly like no
other, and most people seem to like that.
In early 1995 we expanded into the
neighboring space, doubling our physical size. At that time we
broadened our scope beyond just wild bird supplies. Our expanded store
is all about relaxation. In addition to the wild bird supplies we also
carry lots of wildlife art, wind chimes, relaxing music, and decorative
water fountains. In Spring of 1999 we completed a second expansion and
now include cabin look and other nature-related decor items and furnishings.
We call this new section of our store "Refuge."
Such pleasant surroundings seem to put our customers in a good mood and
those two factors together make the Wild Bird Shop a very pleasant and
enjoyable place to visit and to work.
If you are in Cannon Beach we hope you will stop in and say
"hi."
Store Hours
Open 7 Days a week
Saturday - 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Sunday through Friday - 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM
(We are at the beach, so these hours are flexible. Some days we may
be a few minutes late, many days we will remain open later than the posted
hours.)
